Audi wasn’t alone in its diesel quest at this year’s the Detroit Show as Mitsubishi also unveiled a diesel-powered sports coupe concept. The Concept-RA is equipped with Mitsubishi’s all-new 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine that showcases a VD/VG (Variable Diffuser / Variable Geometry) turbocharger. The low emissions diesel unit develops a maximum output of 201 hp and maximum torque of 310 ft. lbs. (42.8 kg-m). And to make things more interesting, the Concept-RA is also equipped with Mitsubishi’s Super-All Wheel Control driveline, a next generation all-wheel-drive system that adds Active Steering and Active Suspension control to the ACD, AYC, ASC, and Sport ABS components that comprise the system used on the 2008 Lancer EVO X.
