Renault Nepta - Renault's 420 Hp 4seater Cabrio Concept Pictures & Video
potlights are on the Paris Show as one by one, car manufactures are speeding up their presentations. A few hours after Peugeot came out with the 207 e-pulse CC arch rival Renault announced the first details on it's Cabrio concept, the Nepta.
But while Peugeot's concept practically unveils next years 207 CC production version, Renault's Nepta Concept is a mere study with nearly zero chances for production. Leaving aside the "show stopper" factor, Nepta's main role is to give us a hint as to where Renault's design is heading for in the near future. Some design elements of the Nepta such as the concave body surface, the front end styling and the long rear lights could possibly be giving us some hints as to what some to look for on its forthcoming models like the next generation Laguna mid-sized sedan.
Design aside, Nepta's highlights include its huge gullwing doors that open to reveal not only the interior but the engine bay also. The later hosts a twin-turbo version of Nissan's acclaimed 3.5 V6 motor that produces 420 Hp and 560 Nm of torque at 3.000 rpm. The V6 is coupled with a 7speed automatic gearbox with flick-shift controls mounted on the steering wheel. According to Renault, the 4.995 mm long and 1.490 kg (197 inches & 3.285 pounds respectively) Nepta needs 4,9 sec to go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph).
