Nope, there's no new 9-5 on the horizon. However, Saab is upgrading the 9-5 Sedan and SportCombi line-up for the Model Year 2008 with the addition of the Nordic Edition. Available as an upgrade for all Vector variants, the Nordic Edition’s standard equipment includes a full leather sports interior, a leather/matte aluminium steering wheel, upgraded audio, cruise control, parking assistance, 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels and an auto-dimming rear- view mirror. The SportCombi also includes matte aluminum roof rails and a storage tray under the rear cargo floor. Furthermore, Saab announced a list of enhancements for the 2008 9-5 range. These include:
Celebrating their anniversary of turbocharged models, Saab announced that they will stage the debut of a limited edition version of the recently revised 9-3 (see here) at the Frankfurt Show in September. According to the Swedes, the 9-3 Turbo X will “inherit the visual appeal of the Saab 99 and 900 Black Turbos” –and that’s about all the info that Saab decided to share with us… Guess we’ll have to wait a few more weeks before Saab releases all the juicy details.

Saab will go ‘back to the future’ at next month’s Frankfurt International Motor Show by evoking the iconic appeal of its classic ‘Black Turbo’ models.
The Swedish premium car maker will celebrate 30 years of leadership in turbocharging by unveiling the Saab Turbo X, a limited edition performance car that inherits the visual appeal of the Saab 99 and 900 ‘Black Turbos’ – while also introducing cutting-edge technology. This ultimate expression of the new 9-3 range will deliver standard-setting levels of performance for the brand.
It was at Frankfurt in 1977 that Saab surprised the automotive world when it revealed its first turbocharged model. It set a performance trend that others were to follow. Now the innovative features of the new Saab ‘Black Turbo’ are also expected to attract widespread imitation.
